Advanced Problem Solving and Communication
This course is about solving strategic problems and the management-oriented communication associated with them. The focus is on problem structuring, the preparation of a solution, as well as the communication of the problem solving for which modern, sophisticated methods and techniques (e.g. S-U-C-C-E-S Framework or System Dynamics) are taught.
Furthermore, the participants have the opportunity to create and to give a short presentation on a freely chosen topic in the last session. In the context of this presentation the previously taught concepts should be applied. The participants receive feedback from the instructors and other participants and can thus practice and test the methods.
Parallel to the five sessions, the participants work on a specific problem from corporate practice. For this purpose the students will be divided into teams à five students. The problem definition for each group will be given in the kick-off event. Each team will have one supervisor, who will give feedback during the three discussion rounds regarding the content of the problem solving and the design of the presentation. At the end of the course the teams present their results, which is also the end of the seminar.
